Completing a Change of Ownership

If you have purchased a used or pre-owned Polaris vehicle, make sure to visit your local Polaris Dealer to complete a transfer of ownership.

To complete this process, bring your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), photo ID and proof of ownership, such as a bill of sale, to your dealer. Then your dealer can update the registered owner information for your vehicle.

This ensures Polaris has the correct owner associated with the correct vehicle should we need to contact you, or should you need to contact us.

When transferring ownership, also make sure the Polaris Protection Plan is transferred, if the vehicle has one. To transfer a Protection Plan, contact your dealer. Polaris recommends contacting the original selling dealer if possible.

A Protection Plan must be transferred within 30 days of the change of vehicle ownership. You must provide all required maintenance receipts and/or a properly completed maintenance log to the buyer at the time of transfer.
