To change the transmission fluid on your 850 TITAN Adventure Ultimate, follow these steps:
1. Park the snowmobile on a flat, level surface, set the parking brake and remove the key.
2. Remove the right side-panel by turning the three quarter-turn latches. Pivot the panel away from the sled and pull it out to remove it.
3. Remove the push pin securing the console to the right fender using the push pin removal tool.
4. Using a T40 TORX® socket, remove the screw that fastens the console to the footrest support.
5. Carefully flex the console out to gain access to the push rivet that secures the right fender to the footrest support and remove the push pin using the push pin removal tool.
6. Carefully flex the right fender down to gain access to the transmission fill plug.
7. Remove the transmission fill plug with an 8mm Allen socket.
8. Remove the fasteners that attach the rear of the right fender to the running board using a T40 TORX® socket.
9. Put a drain pan under the drain plug. Tip: Placing a rag in the drain pan will help prevent the splashing of fluid.
10. Carefully flex the fender down to gain access to the drain plug and remove the drain plug with an 8mm Allen socket. Let the fluid drain completely. Note: Fluid might run down the fender before flowing into the drain pan. Wipe any residual fluid off the fender after the transmission has been drained.
11. Before reinstalling, clean the transmission drain plug magnetic surface.
12. Install the transmission drain plug and torque to 12 ft-lbs (16 Nm).
13. Raise the right ski so it is 6 in (15 cm) off the ground. Important: Make sure the vehicle is secure and safely supported.
14. Add 24 oz (700 ml) of AGL Synthetic Gearcase Fluid through the fill hole. Keep the fluid level even with the bottom of the fill hole threads. AGL Synthetic Gearcase Fluid is part number 2878068 for 1 quart (946 ml) and part number 2878069 for 1 gallon (3.78 L).
15. Install the transmission fill plug and torque to 12 ft-lbs (16 Nm).
16. Lower the right ski back on the ground.
17. Check for leaks and wipe away any residual fluid.
18. Install the fasteners that attach the rear of the right fender to the running board and torque to 35 in-lbs (4 Nm).
19. Continue by installing the push pin that secures the right fender to the footrest support.
20. Install the push pin that secures the console to the right fender.
21. Install the screw that fastens the console to the footrest support and torque to 71 in-lbs (8 Nm).
22. Reinstall the right side panel.
23. Dispose of used oil properly at your local recycling center.
