ACE Headlight Maintenance

Headlight and taillight lenses become dirty during normal operation of your Polaris ACE. Clean all lights frequently to ensure a clear field of vision as well as visibility to other vehicles.

Headlight Beam Adjustment

ACE headlight diagram

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface with the headlight approximately 25 feet (7.6 m) from a wall. Place the transmission in PARK.

2. Measure the distance from the floor to the center of the headlight and make a mark on the wall at the same height.

3. Apply the brakes. Turn the ignition switch to the LIGHTS ON position.

4. Observe the headlight aim. The most intense part of the headlight beam should be aimed 8 inches (20 cm) below the mark placed on the wall in the second step. Include the weight of a rider on the seat while performing this step.

5. If adjustment is necessary, turn the headlight adjustment screw (1) to adjust the beam.

6. Repeat the Steps 4 and 5 until the beam is properly adjusted.

Headlamp Replacement for ACE 325, 500 and 570
When servicing a halogen lamp, don't touch the lamp with bare fingers. Oil from your skin leaves a residue, causing a hot spot that will shorten the life of the lamp. If fingers do touch a lamp, clean it with denatured alcohol. The replacement bulb is part number 4010253.

Caution: Hot components can cause burns to skin. Allow lamps to cool before servicing.

Access the headlamp wiring harness through the front wheel wells. To change a headlamp:

1. Disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the headlamp bulb. Be sure to pull on the connector, not the wiring.

If an LED headlight on an ACE 900 becomes damaged or inoperable, the entire headlight assembly must be replaced. Do not operate the vehicle at night or in low light conditions without properly working headlights. If a headlamp has moisture of fogging inside, disconnect the wiring harness (1) from the headlamps for a few days to allow the moisture to clear out.
